A Few New Layouts

These are some layouts that I did at the last crop in February but have not yet had a chance to photograph or post until today. Hope that you enjoy!

The best part of all, is that they are all done from stash! Well that and that they are done!

Yes I know....

.... its been forevah since I've been around. The only thing that's given me time to come here now is that I'm sick with the trifecta of an asthmatic's nightmare. Bronchitis, upper resp. infection and sinus infection all at the same time. More than anything what brought me over here this morning was a comment that I got over the weekend waiting for approval to be posted. Its from this post all the way back from September 2008. Censorship Sucks I can't fathom it but its still getting comments. Wow! I guess its nice to know that truth doesn't have time limits.

Hope y'all are feeling better than I am now. If you get a sec, watch Religiolous with Bill Maher. Saw it (finally) on Sat night at home with DH. Don't wanna miss this one.

I'm out.

Hate and Bigotry - Still In Vogue

I was forwarded this email today and it really has me in a tither. I am incensed by this sort of thing and especially when perpetuated by those that consider themselves Christians.

I do hope this will not come to be a real fact, and acted upon.

Subject: Food for thought

One of my exceptionally bright students sent me the following link to a website with the following message:
http://www.barackobamaantichrist.blogspot.com/
"I thought this was a pretty interesting article, it has a bunch of links to other articles that talk about the questions that no one reports."

I wish that more folks would actually practice what is in the Bible they preach so strongly about. I sent back a reply to all including the OP.

I cannot believe that this kind of ignorance, bigotry and hatred is still being perpetuated. Its so very sad and part of why our society is in the state it is in today.

Exodus 20:16
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

Exodus 23:1
Do not spread false reports. Do not help a wicked man by being a malicious witness.

Proverbs 6:19
A false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

Proverbs 19:5
A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will not go free.

Judge the man upon the things he actually has done. Not Internet rumors and racist stereotypes. Make opinions based upon facts, not fiction.

Until some one is found guilty of something you don't convict or vilify them for it. At least that is what the whole concept of this Country's legal system is based upon, and that of the Christian faith.

Luke 6:31
Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Matthew 7:12
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Leviticus 19:15
Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.

Judges 11:27
I have not wronged you, but you are doing me wrong by waging war against me. Let the LORD, the Judge.

Matthew 7:1-2
Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Like it or not Barack Obama is our president for the next 4 years. We should all be doing our best to support him (or any new president for that matter) to get this country back in line. Its a huge undertaking, and it will take the efforts of all Americans.

Lincoln said it aptly, "A house divided against itself cannot stand," so let us try to work together instead of tearing each other apart.

If he actually does something wrong, then let the attack dogs pounce. But until that point, keep the dogs of war in the pens.

Blame It On Jon Stewart

So Paul and I are watching the Daily Show (love that one btw) and JonStewart shows how darn near every "news" entity out there did the same thing this week! The covered the Obama girls in nauseating detail of their trips to school. I mean what gives? Not only are they CHILDREN and should be left in peace; but its NOT news! I don't care what kind of backpack they used to carry their school supplies or what they are having for lunch and neither should you!

More and more the "news" agencies spend time on stories that have all the substance of canned air. I mean look at this one example I pulled off of Goggle to illustrate my point. There are no innocents here. CNN, Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS they are all guilty of it. Do you see what's really wrong with this picture? Full blown coverage on a vapid debutante, but look at the ticker. Why don't they cover that story in grand detail?

Let's see full coverage on real issues. Afghanistan. Israel. Obama's transition. How the Bush administration is condoning socialism and corporate welfare. Stop treating us like brainless monkeys.

Oh and here's a watch for you related to this very subject. Lions For Lambs Paul and I watched it last week. It has Meryl Streep, Tom Cruise and Robert Redford in it. Good story and it will make you think twice while watching the "news' next time.

I know.... I know.....

I've fallen behind in my blogging duties. Christmas was chaotic yet quiet. Explain that one huh? I just this week uploaded pictures from Christmas but have yet to file and organize them.

Trying to get everything back in order around here, esepcially before I go back to work in February. I got my scrap table back up today and actually got my groove on too. Working on a name badge for when I start working at CKC for a friend.

However I must admit to a new guilty pleasure, Facebook. I love it! I've caught up with folks that I've not talked to or seen in over 20 years, but yet have known me most all of my life. Its really been a trip!

That's all for now. I hear my pillow calling me!

Stick a Fork In Me!

Because I'm done with all shopping until December 26th! Last night DH & I finished up the last of our holiday purchases. MiL just came and picked up several packages of presents to take to her church for their "wrapping fund raiser." And beyond that DH does the rest of the wrapping. Phew! But don't ask me about Christmas Cards. They may prove to be New Years Cards this year.

Christmas Day will be here this year. A first evah. We are actually not planning on leaving the house. Can you believe it? The morning is reserved for just us three. Then we'll be hosting brunch (2nd Annual) for the three of us and Pam again this year. Followed by an open house all day long after noon-ish.

I plan on serving a buffet for Christmas Day and much of the work is already prepared thankfully. I'm trying to keep it as easy as possible, so I can enjoy the day as well. Novel thought isn't it?

If you are in the neighborhood please stop by and join us on Christmas Day or anytime through out the Season! From our family to yours, "Merry Christmas!"
